Quimper has good rail connections to the rest of France. Direct TGV services connect it to Paris Montparnasse in about four hours, and the station is centrally located about 15 minutes' walk from the cathedral. Regional trains link Quimper to Brest, Lorient, and other Breton cities.
Quimper-Cornouaille Airport has scheduled services to Paris Orly and a handful of other French cities, though the train is usually more convenient for most travellers. The airport is about 5 kilometres from the centre; taxis are the only realistic option unless you rent a car.
By car, Quimper is at the end of the A84 motorway from Rennes (about 2 hours) and well connected to the rest of Brittany via the N165 expressway along the coast.
