Notre-Dame de Locmaria anchors the older Locmaria quarter south of Quimper's cathedral centre. Its Romanesque proportions are plain and strong, a useful contrast to the Gothic drama of Saint-Corentin and the half-timbered streets around the old town.
The church works best as part of a walk along the Odet and through Locmaria, especially if you are interested in Quimper's faience tradition nearby. It is quiet, old, and easy to miss if you only follow the postcard route through the centre.
