Getting Around

Baden-Baden is one of the most walkable spa towns in Europe. The central spa district, the casino, the Lichtentaler Allee, and the old town are all within a fifteen-minute walk of each other. Steep streets on the way up to the New Castle and Hohenbaden need decent shoes.

Buses cover the wider area, including the run to the railway station in Oos, the Merkur funicular base, and out to Iffezheim on race days. Taxis are abundant. Cycling along the Oosbach river and the Rhine valley is excellent — rental shops in the centre rent bikes for a half-day.
