Historic Oath House where the mayor renews his pledge each year

Address Weinhof 12, 89073 Ulm

The Oath House (1612/1785) at Weinhof 12. From its balcony, the mayor delivers an annual report and renews his oath to uphold the city's constitution (Schwörbrief 1397) each Schwörmontag. Built on the site of the former chapel of the Imperial Palace of Ulm, first mentioned in 854, and rebuilt in 1785 after a fire, then restored following war damage in 1944. Today it serves as the city archive and library. On the square stands a St. Christopher Fountain replica after Jörg Syrlin the Elder (1584).
