Botanischer Garten Hof

Municipal botanical garden inside Theresienstein park, with alpine and woodland sections

Tucked into the eastern slope of Theresienstein park, the municipal botanical garden is small (about three hectares) but well laid out, with sections devoted to alpine plants, native Bavarian flora, medicinal herbs, and ornamental perennials. The collection of regional grasses and meadow plants is among the better ones in southern Germany, and the rose garden in late June is exceptional.

Admission is free; the gates close at dusk. Allow an hour. The adjoining café in the park has reasonable cake and a terrace with views across the city.
