Eating Out

Lindau's restaurant scene leans heavily on Bavarian and Austrian traditions — pretzels, white sausage, schnitzel — but the lake location also brings freshwater fish onto most menus. Felchen (whitefish), Renke (a local salmonid), and pike-perch from Lake Constance are the regional specialities and worth ordering wherever you see them. The harbour-side restaurants are predictably tourist-oriented; the better places are a short walk into the old town lanes.
