Porta Praetoria is the surviving north gate of the Roman camp Castra Regina, built around 179 AD. It is often described as one of Germany's oldest stone structures and is a rare visible fragment of Roman Regensburg in the middle of the medieval old town.
The remains are compact, but they are close to the cathedral and worth a stop while walking through the historic centre.
