The Schlachte promenade along the Weser has a strip of bars and restaurants that fill up on summer evenings. The Schnoorviertel and the university area are better for smaller local spots. Café Sand on the river has outdoor seating, a volleyball court, and the only sandy beach in the city — the Sunday breakfast buffet (€8) is a good deal. Hagarty's is one of several Irish pubs in the city with a genuine feel and live music on weekends. La Habana near the Schlachte is a good Cuban-style bar for warm evenings.
