Lafleur

Lafleur, in the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten, is Frankfurt's only three-Michelin-star restaurant — chef Andreas Krolik works at the precise, ingredient-driven end of modern German fine dining, with a parallel vegan tasting menu that is itself one of the best in Germany. Two menus run nightly: an animal-protein menu and a vegan menu, both highly conceptual and presented over 6 to 10 courses.

The room is large, calm and elegant, set inside a 19th-century pavilion in the Palmengarten with views over the gardens. Service is impeccable but unstuffy. Reservations need to be made many weeks in advance. The vegan menu is the more interesting choice if you have not eaten serious vegetable cooking at this level before. Lafleur menu prices are at the top of the German market; expect a bill in line with a starred Paris or Munich restaurant.
