The Main Tower Restaurant on the 53rd floor — one storey below the public observation deck — is the rare Frankfurt fine-dining venue with a genuinely spectacular view. The menu is contemporary German-international (modern fish and meat plates with seasonal local ingredients) and is consistently good if not Michelin-starred. The wine list focuses on Rheingau and Rheinhessen whites.
Book a window table for sunset, ideally on a clear day in winter when the visibility extends as far as the Taunus and Odenwald hills. Prices are roughly what you would pay at any of the better restaurants in the Westend, plus a small surcharge for the view; if the menu is too steep, the adjoining bar serves drinks at the same window seats. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
