Saarbrücken Hauptbahnhof is the main station, with regular services to Frankfurt (under two hours by ICE), Paris (about 90 minutes by TGV via the high-speed line through Metz), and Mannheim. The station is also the French Eurobahnhof, reflecting the city's role as a gateway between the two countries.
By road, the A6 motorway connects Saarbrücken to Mannheim and the German autobahn network. Metz is about 70 km south on the French side. Saarbrücken Airport (SCN) has flights to several German and European cities but is fairly limited in scope; Frankfurt is the main international hub for the region.
