Blaues Wunder

Elegant blue steel bridge over the Elbe, linking Loschwitz and Blasewitz.

Blaues Wunder, officially the Loschwitz Bridge, is one of Dresden's most beloved pieces of engineering. Its blue-painted steel span crosses the Elbe between Loschwitz and Blasewitz without the heavy piers that would have interrupted the river below.

The bridge is best appreciated as part of an Elbe-side walk or tram outing into Dresden's eastern neighbourhoods. It is practical infrastructure, but its colour, setting, and nickname have made it a genuine city landmark.
