Görlitz has a better restaurant scene than its size and location might suggest, partly because of its growing tourist profile and partly because the Polish border makes it easy to eat well in Zgorzelec for less money. The Old Town has a growing number of good cafes and restaurants, mostly in the Untermarkt and Obermarkt areas. For a full meal, the restaurants along the Neisse waterfront and in the streets just off the main squares tend to be more interesting than the tourist-facing places directly on the plazas.
