The Princely Park is the great surprise of Greiz: a 50-hectare English landscape garden laid out in the early 19th century along the meanders of the White Elster, with the Sommerpalais set at one end and a sequence of meadows, lakes, follies and a rosery winding away to the north.
It is one of the most important historic parks in Thuringia and a fine place for a quiet morning walk. The pond by the Sommerpalais is particularly photogenic, with the palace reflected in the water.
