Jugendstil Streets

Greiz prospered in the late 19th century as a centre of the Thuringian textile industry, and many of the houses built in the boom years are in the Jugendstil — German Art Nouveau — style. The best concentrations are along Thomasstraße, Burgstraße and Leonhardtstraße in the lower town.

It's a half-hour walk past floral facades, wrought-iron balconies, and stained-glass doorways, and there is no particular itinerary — just wander and look up.
