Aquaworld Aquarium

A small but well-curated aquarium and reptile rescue centre tucked into a side street a couple of blocks back from the main strip. The aim is education and rescue rather than spectacle — most of the marine creatures on display were caught in fishing nets and brought here by local fishermen, and many are released after rehabilitation. There are no dolphins or sea lions, no shows; what you get is a hands-on tank where children can touch hermit crabs and starfish under supervision, and a quiet hour with octopus, moray eels, conger, and a colony of rescued tortoises.

It is the most family-friendly attraction in town for a wet morning or a hot afternoon, and the staff are happy to explain what each animal is doing in their tank. Cheap to enter and rarely crowded.
