Malia's nightlife is concentrated along the resort strip and is aimed squarely at young holidaymakers. Expect loud bars, clubs, cheap drinks promotions and a late finish in high season. If that is what you came for, you will not have to search.
For a calmer drink, head inland toward the old village or east along the coast. The difference between the strip and the quieter tavernas can feel like crossing into a different town.
