Sisi is a small harbour village east of Malia, quieter and more compact than the big resorts to the west. It has tavernas, a sheltered waterfront and a slower rhythm, which makes it a useful antidote if Malia's nightlife has started to feel like too much of a good thing.
Come for lunch, a waterfront walk, or an easy evening away from the strip. It is not untouched by tourism, but it keeps a village scale that Malia largely lost along the coast.
