Dion is 87 kilometres south of Thessaloniki on the old National Road (not the motorway). The village is well signposted from the E75 motorway — exit at the Katerini junction and follow signs south toward Litochoro and Dion.
By train, the nearest station is at Litochoro (about 6 km south), served by intercity trains on the Athens–Thessaloniki line. From Litochoro a taxi to Dion costs around €10-15. There is no reliable bus service directly to the site from outside the area.
Most visitors come as a day trip from Thessaloniki (about one hour by car) or combine Dion with a visit to the Litochoro trailhead for Mount Olympus.
