Larissa is on the main Athens–Thessaloniki rail line, making it one of the better-connected cities in northern Greece. Trains run regularly in both directions — Athens is about 4 hours, Thessaloniki around 90 minutes. InterCity Express trains are faster than the regional services. The station is about 2 km from the centre, reached by taxi or bus.
By road, Larissa sits on the E75 motorway and is easily reached by car from Athens (around 3.5 hours) or Thessaloniki (under 2 hours). The KTEL bus station serves destinations across Thessaly and beyond. Larissa National Airport handles some domestic flights but international connections are limited.
