Kathisma Beach

The most accessible of the great west-coast beaches: a 2 km strip of fine pale sand reached by a sealed road from the village of Agios Nikitas. There are several large beach bars and tavernas, plenty of sunbeds, and the water shelves gradually — making this the family-friendly counterpoint to Porto Katsiki and Egremni.

Sunsets at Kathisma are extraordinary; the cliffs to the south glow orange-pink in the last half hour of light. The Sea Side and Kavalikefta bars are pleasant places to wait for it.
