A pine-shaded islet barely 300 metres long, connected to Gythio's southern waterfront by a stone causeway. The walk across takes five minutes and is one of the most pleasant evening strolls in the town — locals do it in groups at sunset, when the lighthouse at the southern tip catches the last light.
The island's centrepiece is the Tzannetakis Tower, an 18th-century Maniot fortified house now restored as the History and Ethnology Museum of Mani. The exhibits cover Maniot architecture, the region's tradition of blood feuds, and the islanders' role in the Greek War of Independence. A small Orthodox church, a working lighthouse and a cluster of cafes complete the loop.
