Panagia Drosiani is one of the most rewarding stops in inland Naxos, a small early Byzantine church near Moni. Its rough stone form and low domes feel far removed from the island's beach resorts, and the surrounding hills make the visit quietly rural.
The church is especially valued for its old frescoes, some of them dating back many centuries. Go with modest expectations about facilities and high expectations for atmosphere: this is a place for slow looking, not a quick photo stop.
