A round, almost completely sheltered bay at the northern tip of the island. The headlands curl in to leave only a narrow channel for boats, which makes Lakka the favourite overnight anchorage of the sailing fleet that crosses the Ionian each summer — masts crowd the harbour even in shoulder season.
The village wraps around the south side of the bay: tavernas at the water's edge, narrow lanes climbing the slope behind, a small Venetian square with a couple of cafes. Walks along the headlands lead to the lighthouse, a Venetian watchtower, and a series of pebble coves with clear water. Quieter than Gaios, livelier than Loggos.
