Bourtzi Castle stands on a small islet off Poros, at the site of an older church of St. Constantine. The present fortification was built around 1828 and later became part of the island's turbulent 19th-century history.
The castle is best appreciated from the water or as part of a coastal outing around Poros, with views back toward the island and the Peloponnese.
