Skiathos Town has a good spread of restaurants concentrated around the old port and along Papadiamantis Street. Fresh fish and seafood dominate menus, and the island's tavernas generally serve it well — grilled whole, simply dressed with lemon and olive oil, eaten overlooking the water. The main harbour strip caters more to tourists; the better meals tend to be found a few streets back in the old town, or out along the south coast road.
