☰Budapest Zoo

As a zoological garden it may not be world-class, but Budapest Zoo is worth visiting for its architecture alone. Completed in 1911, it is one of the oldest zoos in Europe, and several beautiful Art Nouveau buildings, including the ornate entrance gate and the elephant house, survive intact. The cast iron perimeter fence is a work of art in itself.
