Budapest is well connected by air, rail, and road. Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, about 25 kilometers southeast of the city center, receives flights from most major European cities and a handful of intercontinental routes. Budget carriers like Wizz Air and Ryanair keep prices competitive. The airport bus 100E runs directly to Deak Ferenc ter in the center for around 2,200 HUF, and taxis to the center cost roughly 8,000 to 10,000 HUF on a fixed tariff.
By train, Budapest Keleti station handles most international services from Western Europe, including direct connections from Vienna, Prague, Munich, and Zurich. Nyugati station serves routes heading east toward Romania and Slovakia. Rail travel from Vienna takes under three hours and is one of the most pleasant ways to arrive. International bus services, including FlixBus, arrive at Nepliget bus station in southern Pest.
