De la Motte-Beer Palace is a small Baroque palace in the Castle District, now used as a lifestyle history museum. Its best rooms are upstairs, where 18th-century wall paintings were uncovered during restoration after the Second World War.
The palace is not one of Buda's headline sights, but it rewards travellers who like intimate historic houses. The frescoes mix biblical scenes, landscapes, and floral ornament, giving a quieter domestic counterpoint to the grand museums around Buda Castle.
