Merzse Marsh is a quiet wetland nature reserve on the eastern edge of Budapest, valued for its birdlife and uncommon marsh plants. It is one of the less built-up green areas in the city limits.
Come for a low-key walk and birdwatching rather than major monuments. The appeal is the change of pace from central Budapest and the chance to see a wilder corner of East Pest.
