Óbuda Synagogue is one of Budapest's oldest surviving Jewish temples and a strong example of early 19th-century neoclassical synagogue architecture. Its portico, Corinthian columns, and balanced facade make it stand out from the later, more ornate synagogues elsewhere in the city.
The synagogue was built in 1820 to designs by András Landherr. It is worth seeking out if you are exploring Óbuda or tracing Budapest's Jewish heritage beyond the better-known sights in Pest.
