The Parish Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Ferencvaros is a Catholic church built between 1867 and 1879 after an earlier church was destroyed in the 1838 Pest flood. Miklos Ybl designed the present building in a French Romanesque style, with a crypt below and frescoes inside.
It is a useful architectural stop when walking between Ferencvaros, the Danube, and the Great Market Hall area.
