St. Peter and Paul Church stands in Esztergom's inner city on the site of an older parish church first recorded in the medieval period. The present church was built in the late 17th century and later enlarged, giving it a layered place in the town's religious history.
It is a quieter stop than the basilica, but worthwhile while walking through the centre. The exterior and interior details help show how much of Esztergom's story sits below the castle hill as well as above it.
