Zsóryfürdő, on the southern edge of Mezőkövesd, is a large thermal spa drawing on hot mineral water discovered in 1939. The complex has outdoor and indoor thermal pools, swimming pools, slides, and a wellness section, and is busy with Hungarian families through the summer.
The water is high in sodium and salt, slightly oily to the touch, and reputedly good for joint pain. Allow at least half a day. The spa is about 3 km south of the town centre; local buses connect, or it is a flat 30-minute walk.
