By road, the M3 motorway runs between Budapest and the Miskolc area, with the journey taking around 2 hours by car depending on traffic. There is no major airport at Miskolc; the nearest international hub is Budapest Ferihegy, so most visitors arrive by rail.
Intercity buses from Budapest also serve Miskolc, taking a similar time to the train. The bus station is adjacent to the train station.
