Miskolc's standout attraction is the thermal Cave Bath at Miskolctapolca, but the city rewards a longer visit. Diósgyőr Castle is the most photogenic historical sight, Lillafüred and the Bükk National Park offer good hiking in forest scenery, and the Avas Hill wine cellars give a glimpse of a much older Miskolc. The Herman Ottó Museum is the best regional museum in northeast Hungary.
