St. Stephen's Valley Bridge

High viaduct linking Veszprém's hills and giving broad views over the valley

St. Stephen's Valley Bridge is one of Veszprém's most useful landmarks: a tall viaduct carrying traffic between the city's hills, with the valley dropping away below. It is a piece of infrastructure, but in a city built on steep ridges and ravines, infrastructure is part of the scenery.

Walk it for the views rather than for the bridge alone. From here you get a good sense of why Veszprém feels so vertical, with the castle district, residential slopes, and green cuts of the valley stacked close together.
