Kilronan has a handful of pubs and they do what island pubs should do: Guinness, occasional traditional music, and a room full of people who have mostly been outdoors all day. The music in summer tends to arrive without announcement — musicians show up, someone starts playing, others join in. You cannot plan around it, which is as it should be.
There are also a couple of cafés by the pier serving sandwiches and soup to ferry passengers. They are functional rather than memorable, but useful if you are waiting for a boat.
