Bantry's pleasures are mostly outdoors and unhurried — the great house on the edge of town, the bay itself, and the wild peninsulas that fan out from the harbour. Most visitors come for two or three days, divide their time between the town and a long drive on the Beara or Sheep's Head, and leave wishing they had stayed longer.
