The CHQ Building is a magnificent 19th-century bonded warehouse on Custom House Quay, its long vaulted interior repurposed as a food market, event space, and home to the EPIC Museum. Built in 1820 to store tobacco, wine, and spirits under customs bond, the brick and cast-iron structure has been carefully restored.
The weekly market in the ground floor vaults is one of the better food markets in Dublin, with a good range of artisan producers. The building also gives direct access to the EPIC Irish Emigration Museum in the vaults below, which tells the story of the Irish diaspora worldwide.
