Riserva di Punta Aderci

A coastal nature reserve five kilometres north of Vasto Marina — 285 hectares of pebble beach, low limestone cliffs, and grassland, with a long sweep down to Punta Penna lighthouse at the southern end. The reserve has marked walking paths, swimming spots away from the marina crowds, and one of the best stretches of unsupervised Adriatic coast.

The classic visit is the Punta Penna–Punta Aderci walk: 3.5 km along the cliff top with the lighthouse at one end and the steep descent to the wild Mottagrossa beach at the other. Take water; there is no shade and the sun on the limestone is intense in summer.
