Crotone has its own small airport, Sant'Anna Airport (CRV), with seasonal connections to Rome Fiumicino and a few northern Italian cities. It is one of the quietest airports in Italy and the connections are limited — check schedules carefully before planning around it.
The more practical option is Lamezia Terme Airport (SUF), about 110 kilometres west on the Tyrrhenian side of the peninsula. Lamezia has good connections to Rome, Milan, and several European cities, and the drive from there to Crotone takes around 90 minutes on the SS280 and then the A2 motorway.
By train, Crotone is on the Taranto–Reggio Calabria coastal line, but services are infrequent and slow. From Naples or Rome it is faster to fly or drive. By road, the SS106 runs along the Ionian coast and connects Crotone to Taranto in the north and Reggio Calabria in the south.
