Reggio di Calabria is served by the Aeroporto dello Stretto (Tito Minniti Airport), just a few kilometres from the city centre, with flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan among other Italian cities. The airport is small and convenient. The city is also the southern terminus of the main Italian railway line down the Calabrian coast, with Trenitalia services from Rome taking about five hours, and from Naples about three.
Ferries cross continuously to Messina in Sicily from the central port — the crossing takes about twenty minutes and operates around the clock. The ferry is the quickest way to combine a visit to Reggio with exploration of Sicily. Driving from Rome takes around six hours via the A3 motorway.
