Reggio di Calabria's main claim on a traveller's time is the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia and its extraordinary collection of ancient Greek art from the colonies of southern Italy. The Riace Bronzes alone justify the trip. Beyond the museum, the seafront promenade, the castle, and several fine Baroque and early twentieth-century churches fill a full day.
