Capri packs an extraordinary amount into 10 square kilometres. The main sights divide naturally between those in Capri town — the Piazzetta, Villa Jovis, the Natural Arch — and those in and around Anacapri, including Monte Solaro and Villa San Michele. The Blue Grotto is a separate excursion from Marina Grande. Walking the island's network of footpaths, many of them ancient mule tracks, is free and reveals gardens, sea views, and corners that the day-trip crowds never reach.
