Parco Virgiliano is the grand payoff for making it out to Posillipo. The park sits high above the water, with terraces that look across the Bay of Naples, Nisida, Procida, Ischia, and the volcanic coastline west of the city.
It is a different Naples from the centro storico: breezier, greener, and more spacious, with families, joggers, and couples lingering at the railings. Go late in the day if the weather is clear, when the islands sharpen in the light and the city feels momentarily easy to understand.
