Getting There

Salerno is well connected by rail — frequent Frecciarossa and intercity trains from Naples (40 minutes) and Rome (2.5 hours). The station is centrally located, five minutes' walk from the lungomare. For the Amalfi Coast, ferries run from the port (April to October) directly to Amalfi, Positano, and Capri — a far more pleasant approach than the tortuous coast road. SITA buses also run from outside the station along the coast road to Amalfi and beyond.

The nearest airports are Naples Capodichino (60 km, best reached by train via Naples Centrale) and Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi Airport, a small regional facility that handles seasonal charter and low-cost routes to northern Europe.
