A small, well-organised museum housed in a former eighteenth-century hospital on Via Pascoli. It is divided into two distinct sections: an archaeological collection covering the Roman mansio of Cattolica (the town was a way-station on the Via Flaminia), and a maritime history section about the fishing traditions of the upper Adriatic.
The Roman material is the more striking — mosaic fragments, glass, coinage, the remains of a small bath complex excavated under the modern town. The maritime section uses surviving boats, models and net-makers' tools to explain how fish were caught, salted and traded along this coast. Free admission; closed Mondays.
