Teatro Verdi

The Teatro Verdi is Pordenone's opera house, built in the nineteenth century in the neoclassical style typical of Italian civic theatres of the period. The interior has been restored and the theatre is now a lively venue for opera, drama, and concerts throughout the season, as well as serving as one of the main screening venues for the October silent film festival.

The facade on the Via Mazzini is graceful without being ostentatious. When performances are running, the foyer and bar are open and worth a look even without a ticket — the Italian theatre-going ritual of the interval aperitivo is particularly pleasant here.
