Gaeta's bar scene is resolutely Italian: morning espresso and cornetto at a café counter, afternoon gelato near the beach, and evening aperitivo by the port. The lower town around the seafront has the most animated nightlife in summer, while the upper town shuts down early.
The Serapo beach area has a cluster of beach bars that stay open into the night during July and August, serving spritz and cocktails to a young Roman crowd. Outside of the summer months, nightlife in Gaeta is very low-key.
